Announcing BDRSuite v5.6.0 U1

BDRSuite just dropped v5.6 Update 1, this new release allows you to easily add multiple servers and endpoints as data sources. Whether you have Windows, Linux, or Mac machines, you can import their details directly from your AD/LDAP servers. This means you can effortlessly manage and back up multiple machines from a single console on the backup server.

For those Mac users, this means uniform management all from one platform!

Centralised Backup Management for Mac

In addition to the server and endpoint support, they have introduced centralised backup management for Mac systems with the latest version of BDRSuite. Now, instead of using separate clients, administrators can configure and manage Mac backups directly from the centralised backup server. This not only streamlines the management process but also eliminates the need for additional client installations.

Backup Windows machines directly from Linux BDRSuite Backup Server

BDRsuite understands the importance of flexibility, so it is now possible to back up Windows machines directly from the Linux BDRSuite Backup Server. With this integration, you can manage the backup and restore functions of Microsoft Windows (DiskImage Backup) without the hassle of separate clients. All your backups and restores can be conveniently handled from a single interface.

Backup Job Template for Endpoints and File/Folder Backups

To further enhance efficiency, they have introduced the backup job template feature in BDRSuite. When configuring file server backups (Windows, Linux) and endpoint backups (Windows, Linux, and Mac), you can now create backup job templates.

This eliminates the need to repeatedly configure backup options such as scheduling, retention, and exclusion for each backup job. With this feature, you can create backup job templates based on your organization’s policy and easily apply them when creating backup jobs for different workloads.

Multi-tenancy support for Endpoints and File/Folder Backups

Additionally, they have added multi-tenancy support for endpoints and file/folder backups. Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and IT administrators can now group selected servers and endpoints to create separate tenants with Read-Only or Restore-Only permissions. This feature extends to endpoints (Windows, Linux, and Mac) as well as servers (Windows and Linux), allowing for more granular control over backup management.
